I'm Thankful

A note from Addie...

I am thankful for my wonderful home, all of my furry friends all over the world, and squirrels!

Where are those squirrels at?

There they are... eating my pumpkins!

Boy these squirrels are getting fat!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Kisses
Addie
P.S. Oh yeah, I'm thankful for Zoe too!

A Forever Home for Ezra...

Ezra is our puppy friend from Family Pet Care. A local news station did a report on Parvo and was on location at Family Pet Care. Ezra was found on the side of the road a few months ago by a Good Samaritan.
Diagnosed with Parvo, Ezra was taken care of by the wonderful staff at Family Pet Care and now because of the report that aired locally, he may have found his forever home! Please keep your paws crossed for him. I know Addie will miss little Ezra, but a wonderful home is what he deserves!

Bilbo, his Generous Family, and a Stolen Dog Found

This is our new friend Bilbo!

Bilbo's family found our website while researching the
breed of puppy that Bilbo might be.
They found Bilbo as a stray while on vacation in the
North of Israel. His new family quickly realized that they were
going to be bringing more back from this family vacation
than a simple t-shirt. After checking with the local vet
to ensure that no one was looking for him,
Bilbo went home with his new family! WOOOHOOO!

Bilbo and his best friend Michal

Bilbo snuggled on the step using a shoe as a pillow.

We believe that Bilbo is a Border Collie/Great Pyrenees mix.
What do you think?
Bilbo is very very kind, sweet natured, friendly and a true
pacifist. He can make friends with the most aggressive dogs - he just
charms them.

Bilbo would make a wonderful therapy dog. So far his
therapeutic effect has been very noticeable on Maggie, their 12 years old
golden, who started a totally new life since he arrive - she is much more
vital and happy, and lost about 6 pounds as a result of playing with him.

Maggie, Bilbo... and the mystery dog.

The Mystery Dog is a pure bred yellow Labrador who
was surviving in the outskirts of Bilbo's families suburb in Israel,
badly injured, but would not let anyone come near her.
It took Bilbo's dad 6  weeks to form a first contact with her -
he would leave for her water and food every night,
until one day she finally let him touch her and feed her.

After another day she came home with Bilbo's dad,
and it was like totally changing her operating system:
once home, she resumed to being a family dog.

Her scars from some bad injury on her right thigh tell a story;
- they can't guess what she has been through.

She is spayed and has an identification chip.

On November 2 they found out that the mystery dog is actually
registered with a local vets inactive files. The dog's name is "Yellow".
The last time she paid a visit to his clinic was 4 years ago.

Bilbo's dad contacted the owners and they are stunned to find out she was found.
Yellow was stolen 3 years ago!

On her way home, Yellow recognizes her street and heads straight to the gate of her house.

Yellow reunited with her family!

When Michal and Bilbo's dad get ready to leave,
Yellow hides deep under the coffee table,
to make it clear that she is staying!

Thank you, Bilbo's family!
Your generosity and compassion for
others makes our world a better place to live in.

Veterans Day Salute

Today we would like to give thanks to all Veterans.
Your selfless commitment to protecting us is appreciated more
than you will ever know.

Here are a few snaps of Ron, Addie's dad, from his Army days as an MP.

This is one of our favorite pictures taken from our balcony in Frankfurt.

Have a great day!

You Dirty Dog

After a lot of playing at the dog park, Addie was pretty dirty.

I didn't realize how dirty until I started washing her...

Seeing Addie like this reminds me of her first bath picture before she came to live with us.
She was only 7 and a 1/2 weeks old.

I am just amazed at all of her black fur that you can't really see when she is dry.

Just look at how much she has changed since her first bath.

All clean. Time to dry.

All clean AND dry!

Just in case you're curious, here is Addie all dry after her first bath.

The next day she started her journey to her new home with us.
