Update: Puppies flight was canceled due to bad weather.
We will let you know when she is scheduled to come in again. I had to get a bath today...
because my new sister is arriving on Wednesday!
Here she is! Our wonderful friends Suzy and John in Ohio picked her out for our family on Saturday. We have not decided what to name her yet, but isn't she cute!
These are her parents. Mom, the Border Collie is named Jingle and dad, the Great Pyrenees is named Azland. They are working dogs on an alpaca farm. If you are wondering, mom is 40 pounds and dad is much bigger at nearly 180 pounds. I wonder how big this puppy is going to be?!
Our friends Suzy and John received one of their puppies from a previous litter. His name is Max.
This is Max and Mikey. Aren't they adorable!
Here are the puppies.
Thank you soooo very much Suzy, John and Mikey! Your kindness and generosity have gone above and beyond in soooo very many ways.
We finally have everything ready for her arrival. I hope all of our friends will understand why we have not been visting much these past few days. It's a lot of work preparing the house for a new puppy. We will catch up as soon as we can. Please stop by tomorrow and check out the live Addie cam featuring the new puppy!
This is so exciting! What a great way to start a new year. We can't wait to see her live. You are going to have so much fun!

Ohhhh how cute!!! What an adorable little face! I can't wait to see her with Addie!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute little bundle of fluff! Have fun with her.
ReplyDeletePrincess Eva
That pup is adorable! They are going to have so much fun together :)
ReplyDeleteIs this farm breeding them intentionally? I wrote a post a while ago about a Bordernese and several people have e-mailed asking if I knew of a Bordernese breeder.... nope I don't... perhaps they'll like the borderpyr, or whatever the name is.
ReplyDeleteOh Addie, you are so lucky to get a new sister to play with.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! What an adorable puppy! I can't wait to watch her and Addie grow up together.
:)
Thanks for the reply, and congratulations on the new addition! Looks way too cute to stand the wait, no? Perhaps the cross will become popular enough to have its own name and regular breeders. I've seen at least 4 in person and they're all impressive dogs... like giant Border Collies with a little less edge.
ReplyDeleteMaybe they're a popular cross because they're common dogs to have together on farms and ranches? Very cool mix, indeed.
Wow, congrats on the new pup.. be great to read how they bond and travel...having 2 is certainly keeping me on my toes...
ReplyDeleteCONGRATULATIONS!!! Your new sister is SO cute! Can't wait to see the live video of you with her! Say? What is her name?
ReplyDeleteHave a fun day!

Puppies are the bestest, so are new sisters! Congrats to all of you and for sure, what an exciting and happy time in your lives!
ReplyDeleteHowever, I am greatly concerned and worried when people take such a risk of breeding a small female dog with a giant male dog.
The mating and subsequent pregnancy can kill the mom - it happens frequently and it's just common sense to breed the other way around in order to prevent a disaster (big female with small male).
I hope people can see the irresponsibility in such an act, no puppies are worth the gamble IMO.
I'm very happy for your new family addition but very sad that some humans take risks with their pets' lives like that.
Hugs from the akitas' mom xoxo
Oh Man that is really exciting!! We Can't wait to see her!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your new family member, and I have to agree that is a great way to start out a new year!!!!!
Erin and the dachshunds
Hello Akitas!
ReplyDeleteThis was not a planned pregnancy by any means. They did not intend for the litter to happen. The people that we are getting her from are not breeders at all. They run an Alpaca farm and these dogs are their work dogs.
I was surprised when I found out the size difference between the two parents. I honestly didn't know that the mom could die from this. Thank you very much for the information! I know what to look for in the future. We are just happy that we can give her a wonderful forever home!
Luv & Kisses
Addie and Staci

How fun for you Addie to have a new sister. She's cute but it will be hard for her to be as cute as you. If you end up not liking her, let me know and I'll trade you Stella for her.
ReplyDeleteHappy new year!!
Domi
Very exciting! I have a question though. Isn't breeding a Great Pyrenees so large with a smaller breed like a Border Collie, quite risky?
ReplyDeletePups are really cute!
