40 Things About Me...

Simona, Paco and Milo's mom, has tagged me to play this game. Here are the rules: I have to write 40 things about me and include a recent photo, then tag three others to play.

1. I was born at Magee Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I lived in West Mifflin and have loved the Steelers since I was little.

2. I got my first dog when I was about 9 years old. Her name was Candy and she was a Poodle/Pomeranian mix.

3. I was a Grandma's girl. My Grandma lived with us from when I was born. She was an amazing cook and made everything from scratch. And yes, I can still work that bottom lip effectively. (I had hurt myself in the picture below and Grandma was making it better.)

4. When I was very young I loved to go to Story Book Forest.

5. I have my B.A. in Management with a Marketing emphasis.

6. Last year I obtained my certification as a Project Management Professional. It is a rather intense 4 hour test. K-8 was diagnosed with Immune-Mediated Hemolytic Anemia and Immune-Mediated Thrombocytopenia while I was in training. She died a few weeks before my test. Needless to say, I did not pass the first time. But I did nail it the second time around!

7. As far as TV goes I love Last Restaurant Standing, The X-Files and Arrested Development to name a few. I did love Top Chef until Hosea won this season. Stephan and Carla were better chefs. Shame on Casey... I wish Carla would have never listened to her.

8. I spent 6 months during my junior year of college in the semester abroad program at Regent's College in London.

9. I hitchhiked across Ireland and kissed the Blarney Stone.

10. I looked for Nessie in Scotland, but did not find her. LOL

11. While in London, I taught pre-schoolers science at a private school. I also had a minor in elementary education. I also spent the majority of my time drawing in the National Gallery.

12. I have seen The Cure, Love and Rockets, The Rolling Stones, Depeche Mode, Tears for Fears, to name a few, live in concert in the states.

13. I have seen U2 live in concert in the states and in Germany.

14. I spent 3 years in Frankfurt, Germany with my husband who was an MP in the Army.

15. While traveling overseas, I love to visit castles and historic places.

16. I love to drive on the autobahn in Germany!

17. In the states I have lived in Pennsylvania, Alabama, Georgia, and Texas.

18. Since I have started working after college, I have always worked at Credit Unions.

19. I am an only child.

20. We brought Zoe back from Germany with us.

21. I loved attending the festivals in Germany.

22. I loved shopping the markets in London.

23. We adopted K-8 in Georgia.

24. I love to volunteer in the community. K-8 was a therapy dog and we visited a local retirement facility every other week up until she died.

25. I love pizza, a good steak, and chocolate.

26. I really don't like Mexican food all that much. heh... yeah it's not the best thing not to like when living in Texas.

27. I am addicted to Sweet Tea from Chicken Express thanks to my BFF Donna!!

28. I love to take pictures of my dogs.

29. I love to spoil my friends.

30. I don't like coffee. That's a grown up drink and I refuse to grow up!

31. I am a Harry Potter addict. Books and movies.

32. Even though it was only for a short time, I loved having 3 dogs.

33. I hate temps over 105 degrees, tornados and hurricanes... yeah Texas is the state for me!

34. During one summer while I was in college, I worked at Kennywood in Kiddieland which was the rides for little kids. It is an amusement park near where I lived in West Mifflin.

35. I'm a level 72 Death Knight, 70 Priest and 70 Mage in World of Warcraft. FOR THE HORDE!

36. I use to play the acoustic and electric guitar. Now I play Guitar Hero and Rock Band on Xbox360.

37. I love to design and build sets for holiday pictures.

38. I have dressed up as Dollar Dog our kids club mascot at the credit union that I work at for grand openings and events.

39. I love Las Vegas! We renewed our vows with Elvis on our 10 year anniversary.

40. I'm training Addie with the hopes that she will become a therapy dog.

Suzuki also tagged me for a photo with the pups. There are many photos of all of us on our blogs, but how many of us have a pic with our Parents displayed? In honour of our Parents who do so much for us post a pic of your furry self with your favourite hooman, then TAG 4 others to do the same.

Since I am so far behind, I'm sure everyone has already done these so I will only pass it on to Tasha. But, if you have not done these yet, consider yourself tagged!

  6. Hi Addie,

Sorry I haven't visited for ages - my humans were away overseas and only just got back. Hsin-Yi's father died and Paul's father was in hospital with a nasty thing called cancer - and then while they were away, we also lost Lemon! She died very suddenly in kennels and my humans were really shocked because she was a young, healthy cat. Anyway, so it was quite a sad home-coming. Hopefully, the rest of 2009 will be happier!

Hope you've been well - looking forward to catching up on your news!

Thank you for sharing! I did this once on our previous blog, it surprised me how much time it took!

You certainly have travelled, we are in Scotland, and I have never, as yet, seen the Loch Ness Monster, only in the mirror when I wake up LOL!

Lovely pictures, especially the Elvis ones!

  11. Wow...I know I liked your blog right away, when I found it, but I had NO IDEA we had so much in common :
I'm an only child; grandma's "baby" (who was a GREAT cook too, BTW); born *just* outside of Pittsburgh (Oil City)- I bleed Black & Gold; got my first dog, lab-mix when I was in 3rd grade (named Taffy - kinda close to Candy!); I have some great ol pics of when I was a child and we visited Story Book Forest (a big hit with me, too!)...Never been overseas tho, however I AM of Irish/Scot/German descent, if that counts for anything! LoL...

Thanks for sharin' all that, and I hope your weekend is wonderful!

  26. For the Horde! I've got a 72 BE mage and a 65 BE DK, with a 58 BE hunter straggling behind. My husband has a 73 BE warlock.

I think a lot more "normal" people play WoW (or similar MMORPG) than they are willing to admit. It's a good way to take one's mind on a short vacation each evening. Also, I've found it can foster communication between spouses. The family that takes on a pack of angry murlocks together stays together. :)
