Welcome to the second installment of the Biggest Loser - Pet Edition!
I have cut way back to almost no treats. Addie is clearly missing them. She has never been real treat motivated, but I did notice a difference during training. When we went to obedience class last week Addie was drooling at the smell of a tiny little treat that she will occasionally get during training class. She typically does not do this. Poor baby!
It sure does feel longer than only one week! Keep up the good work contestants!
Tip of the Week
I found a web site that is pretty helpful. It is hosted by Science Diet. They provide:
- Online tools to track your pets weight loss
- Helpful tips and e-tools
- Exercise suggestions
- Pet fit challenge - we signed up and it shows all of the other pups out there that are trying to lose weight
Personally, I don't use Science Diet (this is not a paid plug for them), I use Royal Canin but the site is really cool! I would recommend that if you use this site, do not just go by what their prebuilt weight loss generator suggests. For Addie it seems like it suggested a lot of weight for her to lose. We will be watching her weight loss along with our vet to ensure that she is kept healthy.
hey addie! thanks for the link.. i checked my weight too.. it says i only need to lose 2 pounds.. i kept telling the hooma this but it seems they wont believe me... hmmm... any excuse to rminimize those treats

Hi friends!
ReplyDeleteWelcome baby Hailey!! I am so happy to hear your good news, and I am really looking forward to seeing all three girls growing up together. Hope Lucie's legs are feeling better soon!
Love Clover xo
P.S. Keep up the good work, Addie!
OMD the puppy is darling! We have tiny Frankie and when we got her we had 2 big dogs (50 and 55 lbs and Frankie was 2 1/2 lbs when we got her). It was funny how the big dogs seemed to know she was little and to be careful, but she immediately took over. She was never intimidated or scared - just like you said. So happy your family is complete again!
ReplyDeleteWe're rooting for you, Addie!

poor Addie. maybe you can have little carrot pieces for treats, or apple pieces. those shouldn't hurt you, right?
ReplyDeletewe hope it goes better for you this coming week! we are rooting for you. you can do it.
woofs.
Err, has the competition started? I am so behind of everything! Mommy has cut down her food to the normal diet amount she should be eating everyday. Cut down treats too. We hope it works for her. She still goes for walks, play ball & run twice a day. That should help. I hope.

We feel so bad that we're always posting about food all the time! We sure hope we're not driving you nuts, Addie!

ReplyDeleteHey, my girls,

Ohhhh...whoops.... Momma sent you pups a pressie... furgetting you'z all on diets. Maybe Addie can have one, and Lucie and Hailey can share the rest.
ReplyDeleteThey are all natural and very low fat because theyz made with apple sauce - so maybe you will be allowed to haz it.
Love Lexi
Poor Addie....that must be so hard! I can't imagine not having my treats everytime I flash a cute face at Mom. Hang in there Addie....you can do it!!
ReplyDeleteNala
Maybe Addie could have just teensy tiny pieces of a soft treat that's easy to break into pieces. A trainer once told us that a small treat is just as good as a big one - it's getting the treat that counts. Just an idea - I can't imagine life with no treats!
ReplyDeleteSee ya!
Joey
We hope we never have to diet, it sounds like no fun at all.
ReplyDeleteSimba and Jazzi xx
Keep up the good work Addie! I am purring for you!
ReplyDeleteHuffle Mawson
