Bitter Sweet

Hailey's puppy class last night was a trip! Selby has grown so much since last week that I can hardly believe it. Selby and Hailey were running around in their play pen, they play in the pen due to another larger dog in the class that likes to pick on Selby. This dogs name is Kimber.

Dogs inside of the pen and outside of the pen are running around socializing. All of a sudden Kimber's mom starts yelling, "NO KIMBER NO" and runs at her. Kimber is clearly ready to poop. Kimber freaks out at her mom running at her and starts running around the room. With Kimbers behind facing the play pen, she lets loose spraying poop all around inside and outside the pen that we are in. It was literally hanging off of the pen about a foot off the ground. GROSS!! Clearly Kimber was not feeling 100%, poor sweet baby.

Luck was on our side because Hailey and Selby were in the area and did not get hit with any. Kimber went home early. If it were my dog I would have done the same thing.

My friend Sandi has been having trouble with Selby biting. She bites everything including Sandi and anyone that handles her. At lunch I was at Target and found a tiny little shirt that was just meant for Selby.

If anyone has any advise on how to get a 4 month old mini poodle to stop biting please leave a comment. She needs help!

My friend Natalie sent me a link to this video of the Puppy Mill in Kaufman, Texas. They are still in need of volunteers. This video will make you cry. It is horrendous how these dogs were treated.

This video is inside the "Mill" when they are carrying the puppies and other dogs out.
It will break your heart.  So much ammonia smell inside that they had to have masks--the puppies were dying because they couldn't get air due to the urine smell and stench.

Here is the link below. The video works in Firefox but for some reason I can't get it to play in Internet Explorer.

  1. The puppy mill movie wouldn't play on our computer, but I am kind of glad because I know it would be just awful to watch.

Momma calls that kind of poop the ring of fire. Stand back!

  4. I couldn't get the video to play, but if there was anything we could do to stop this we would. It is horrible, we have seen shows on tv about it. It is a good thing to show people so they know.

I am glad you were not hit by the poop incident. Sometimes, you can't hold it in. My Mom would like to get me that shirt. I am a 4 year old shih tzu that still bites, so Mom has no advise, but hopes you get some.

    licks and sniffs, Sasha

  8. Hi Girls. *Sigh.... these videos are so sad. :(

I asked Mommy about some training tips since she gives them out part time to all sorts of people for extra kibble money. She said she will shoot you an email this weekend with some ideas and tips.

    Licks,

  9. Hi Addie!

I'd surely share my Bag O' Meat with you and Hailey. But not Selby...oh, no. I do not like biters. Ms. Alpha thinks that Selby needs some one-on-one lessons with a good trainer to "nip" this in the bud. But she's sure it can be done, because my predecessor had biting problems and learned to stop.

I hope Hailey's classes are poop-free. Yuck...we like to smell it, but we don't like to wear it!

I shall be kind to Bo and take him to my Store of Meat and favorite swimming places.

    Your pal,
    Fenway

  10. Oh those poor puppies.. How come humans can be so cruel...
We love the T-shirt. Mom always kind of flicks Callie's nose when she bites.. Of course she thinks mom is playing...

  12. We loved puppy class, it was so much fun. The little ones grow so quick, isn't it amazing how they change from week to week?
