Domi The Therapy Dog: You will always be in our hearts.

It is with a heavy heart and through a lot of tears that I have to share that our dear friend Domi has said her last goodbye in a blog post. She is with her boy and girl who love her more than anything. Please visit her blog and share the love with her.

For those of you that don't know, Domi was adopted as an older dog, not a puppy. We admire Domi's girl and boy and hope that Domi's story will encourage others to adopt older dogs as well. They could not have found a better dog anywhere. Please read her adoption story.

Domi touched so many lives that will never forget her.

She LOVED to go for a ride in the car and those rides actually helped her feel better as condition worsened.

We love you Domi!

A Dog's Prayer
Treat me kindly, my beloved master, for no heart in all the world is more grateful for kindness than the loving heart of me.

Do not break my spirit with a stick, for though I should lick your hand between the blows, your patience and understanding will more quickly teach me the things you would have me do.

Speak to me often, for your voice is the world's sweetest music, as you must know by the fierce wagging of my tail when your footstep falls upon my waiting ear.

When it is cold and wet, please take me inside... for I am now a domesticated animal, no longer used to bitter elements... and I ask no greater glory than the privilege of sitting at your feet beside the hearth... though had you no home, I would rather follow you through ice and snow than rest upon the softest pillow in the warmest home in all the land... for you are my god... and I am your devoted worshiper.

Keep my pan filled with fresh water, for although I should not reproach you were it dry, I cannot tell you when I suffer thirst. Feed me clean food, that I may stay well, to romp and play and do your bidding, to walk by your side, and stand ready, willing and able to protect you with my life, should your life be in danger.

And, beloved master, should the Great Master see fit to deprive me of my health or sight, do not turn me away from you. Rather hold me gently in your arms as skilled hands grant me the merciful boon of eternal rest...and I will leave you knowing with the last breath I drew, my fate was ever safest in your hands.

  3. What a beautiful tribute to the perfectly special Domi.

Run free little Domi, happy and without pain. You are with God now and there isn't any finer home that you could have made it into than the one you share now with God and His angels. You earned your wings and taught us all precious lessons along the way.

  4. Our momma posted today about Domi, too, and our momma just can't stop crying. We know that she is in Heaven but sometimes we just can't stand the loss and our momma cries and cries.

Our momma WILL be adopting all seniors from now on. She knows that there will be many sorrows and good-byes but all of us need love in old age and that is furry imPAWtant.
