Guess who's feeling better...

LUCIE!!

Last night she had an upset stomach due to her meds. Special thanks to Dr. Johnson for taking my early morning call today. We have changed the time that we give her the rimadyl and we have not had trouble since. She pranced around the yard a little when I got home from work and greeted me at the door with a happy wagging tail! For the first time in a week Lucie is moving around after dinner instead of sleeping. This is all good! I just know this is the beginning of more good things to come!

  3. I just wanted to add that I just took a look at Lucie's lab values. Does Dr. Johnson think that Lucie's low T4 level is a concern at all. I ask because our late dog, Brandy, had an episode over a span of a few days which sounds similar to Lucie's listless. Our Brandy came to a day where she couldn't stand up without help and her back legs seemed useless. We discovered she was hypothyroid. Our vet put her on soloxine, and she perked up within 24 hours and took soloxine for the rest of her days.

  9. Hailey is such an angel taking care of Lucie. My mom believes in rimadyl--it has helped several of her old dogs walk again after losing the use of their back legs. She thinks it's like a miracle drug despite some anecdotes on the web about some bad stuff with it. Hooray for Lucie!1

  19. What great news!!!! And we have our paws crossed that this is the start of better times.

Ms. Alpha had great success when she gave the aged Logo (who's now prancing at The Bridge) Rimadyl. Yes, it may have some side effects, but sometimes the quality of life is most important and this drug can work wonders.

Nurse Hailey gets my vote for the sweetest doggie!

  24. Sending many good thoughts for Lucie to feel better furry soon!

We have been having lots of rain here. Momma is furry worried 'bout the package we is supposed to be gettin' fur winning you's contest. If you will give us a head's up when you mailed it we will keep the door to the front porch unlocked so it doesn't get all wet and soggy if we is gone shopping.

  29. Wowee! We've been thinking a lot about Lucie! This is wonderful news! Paws crossed for her continued recovery. Sam and Bonnie have both taken Rimadyl for different reasons and did fine. Sam took it for some arthritis symptoms, but didn't take it long. Bonnie took it for inflammation. It worked great for both dogs. Hopefully this is all Lucie needed! Great news!
