Here We Go Steelers... Here We Go!!!!

BRING HOME THE SIX PACK!!!

Super Bowl Sunday... we can hardly wait for the game to begin!
The girls are ready too.

My husband and I were born and raised in Pittsburgh. We have always been Steelers fans. Living in the Dallas/Fort Worth area is like living in a melting pot. There are many Steelers fans around, but at where I work at least all of my friends are Cowboys fans. I know, they have been very sad this year.
When the Cowboys played the Steelers at home in December, one of my best friends challenged me to a friendly wager. With the help of my other best friend Tasha, the wager was finalized...

If the Cowboys win
·         Staci must wear either a Cowboys hat or shirt two days (these days should be chosen when Staci has no outside meetings) during the month of January AND
·         Must take a picture of both dogs in Cowboys apparel (which Natalie will provide) to bring in and share with co-workers AND
·         Must buy Natalie a treat from Sonic or Chicken Xpress once a week during the month of January.
If the Steelers win
·         Natalie must wear a Steelers Santa hat two full days during the month of January (these days should be scheduled when Natalie has no outside meetings) AND
·         Display all Steelers decorations in her cube that Staci provides until the Super Bowl AND
·         Must buy Staci a treat from Sonic or Chicken Xpress once a week during the month of January
 Meet Natalie...

Natalie is a sad Cowboys fan, but she has been a really good sport. I went easy on her and gave her the necklace to wear instead of the Steelers Santa hat. Natalie is pregnant, due in March, with a little girl that they have named Paisley.  What Natalie doesn't realize is that Paisley has already turned into a Steelers fan...

GO STEELERS!!!

A Sad Time....

We were sad to hear that our friend Suzuki lost his little brother Jimmy Rabbit today.
Please send him and his family good vibes and prayers during this difficult time.

Have you found true love?

Addie has.
Addie and Lucie were meant to be together...
like two peas in a pod!

We are calling all pups, cats and hammies to show your true love.
Share your favorite true love picture with us and you could win a beautiful personalized picture frame to display your true love to everyone! Email your picture to us by February 21. Three lucky winners will be chosen. All photos will be displayed here as they are received for everyone to enjoy!

What breed is Lucie...

We received the results!

For us at least, this Wisdom Panel report was 100% correct. With as fast as Lucie is growing, we can see that she is taking after her father the Great Pyrenees! It would be interesting to see how the balance would be on Addie. I believe that the Border Collie is the dominant breed.

Welcome

We want to welcome our best friend Tasha to the blog world!

Remember Our Love

Today was a beautiful sunny day. A little chilly outside, but that was ok. We said goodbye to our sweet Zoe. At Smoke Rise Farms they have a gazebo where we got to see her for the last time. I placed a few of her favorite toys and a snack bag of pup-peronies with her for her new journey. Since this is Addie's blog, you probably don't know much about Zoe. So here is a little introduction to one of the biggest parts of our lives.

While living in Frankfurt, Germany, I fell in love with the Longhaired Dachshund breed.
Zoe was our first. Born in Hoxter, Germany on June 16, 1994, Zoe was a purebred langhaardackel (longhaired Dachshund). Zoe's registered name is Kelli vom Corveyer Land. Her father was Zwirn v. Anner Land and her mother was Kora v. Kleinen Muck. Zoe was an outgoing puppy. She kept me on my toes and taught me a lot. We spent countless hours on walks in the beautiful gardens in Germany.

Zoe was a well traveled little dog. She has been to Pennsylvania, Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Las Vegas and Texas. In Las Vegas, the elevators broke down and Ron had to carry Zoe in her backpack up over 20 flights of stairs. K-8 joined our family in October of 1996. Her mother was an American Bulldog and her father was a Border Collie. In August 1997, we packed up our family and moved to Texas.

Zoe and K-8 had their little quirks that we will always remember. K-8 was terrified of bugs and thunderstorms. When a bug would get in the house, K-8 would run and hide in the closet until we killed it and told her that the bug was dead. And during thunder storms that occurred at night, K-8 would get in bed with us and sit on our heads. Zoe loved to swim and lived for treats. We discovered her love of swimming when she was a little puppy. We were out for a walk in a park and she just jumped right into a pond. From then on if she saw water she had to be in it. And treats... she knew exactly where they were kept and would open the cabinet door to get to them or bark incessantly until she was given one. Zoe was my alarm clock in the morning and always snuggled on my right side at night.

Zoe and K-8 were there for us through countless milestones, the good times and the bad. Neither of them asking for more than to be loved. And loved they definately were. We gave them the best lives possible and miss them both dearly. Today, Zoe was laid to rest next to her best friend K-8. We know that they are together waiting for us at the bridge.

We would like to take a moment to express our deepest gratitude to all of our friends (human and furry) that have helped us at this difficult time. Thank you for honoring her memory with your very meaningful comments and tributes. We are blessed to be a part of this wonderful blogging community. And thank you so very much for honoring Zoe on your blog:
Thank you so very much dear friends! We would like to express a special thank you for the tribute video's created by our dear friends Paco and Milo, Aki, and The 4 Musketeers. Zoe was most precious to our family.

We will be forever grateful for the loving memories you have shared with us and we’ll treasure them for a lifetime. In memory of Zoe, I have had a star named after her in Canis Minor. The next time you are looking at the stars, say hello to Zoe and K-8. They would love to meet you.

Lastly, we would like to share a few video's of Zoe's favorite things...
swimming and her ball.
