Square Foot Garden: Nine Weeks

The flower has grown a bunch this week. We harvested 3 purple green beans which the pups got to try.

Thanks to this female wolf spider, we have about 100 baby spiders in our garden and backyard now.
As big as she is, I didn't even notice her at first

What caught my attention was Hailey sitting on the porch with a ton of tiny baby spiders running around her. Not knowing exactly what they were as I approached her, I picked her up (finally noticing the giant female spider), ran her in the house and gave her a good looking over to make sure she was not bitten. Once I saw that she was ok, I went back outside to investigate. It was like a sea of baby spiders running toward our garden, house and backyard.

  1. The garden is looking great!

Not too sure about that spider though! Murray would be a bit scared of it - he doesn't much like spiders!

  2. Your garden is looking good. Bob just started planting a little over a week ago. It's been too wet. Now, of course, it will be dry. Such is the life of a farmer. Hailey thinks those purple beans are candy. Cute!

  3. OMG....my mom would have FREAKED out seeing all those spiders. Have you ever seen the cell phone commercial where the lady screams at the spider on the cell phone? Well, that is my mom NO JOKE! haha.

Hailey is so cute, cleaning up all the beans. Lucie wouldn't even try them at all?

  6. Bobo would like Hailey to come over his house and clean up the green bean mess he leaves after eating. k?tx!

I supplement his food with green beans because he's (shhhhhhhhh) dieting and he tries to throw out as many as he can.

The strike is expected to be put to an end by Monday/Tuesday ~ we'll try the local post office again. if its still not taking packages.. Mommy will courier to you.... I can't wait for you to see what I picked out ... Woof!! Woof!!! your new pal Dolce!!!
