Remembering Memorial Day

We would like to take a moment to remember those who gave their lives in the line of duty.
One gift, above all others
God gives to us to treasure
One that knows no time, no place
And one gold cannot measure

The precious, poignant tender gift
Of Memory, that will keep
On dear ones ever in our hearts
Although God gives them sleep it brings back long remembered things.

A song, a word, a smile
And the world's a better place because
We had them for awhile!
I took this picture of the wall many years ago on a trip to Washington while in grade school.

  13. Each and every time I find a blog, or someone stops by and I go to visit their blog, and our fallen heros are honored, my heart swells with pride.

We need to teach the kids that this is not just a three day weekend filled with a parade and hot dogs. This holiday means so, so much more.

  23. Hi Addie, Lucie, and Hailey! What a nice new look to your bloggie! Very cute picture of the three girls - Hailey is so small compared to Addie! Thank you for the nice Memorial Day post. Our parents saw a traveling version of the wall several years ago, and both found names of people they knew. It was very moving.

    Your pals,
    Joey and Zeke
